I love this little linen bag - it seems to have such a sense of fun.
Some clever French person has taken a a beautiful piece of linen, cut out shapes : triangles and lozenges and then, on each side they have embroidered the most magificent sunflower. Every edge has been finished with a dense buttonhole stitch.
The centers of the sunflowers are full of little dots surrounded by an oval of very heavy stitchery, which is raised and very striking.

The yellow cotton lining shines through all the cut-out shapes.
There are two linen handles.

Measurements are ; 11 by 11 inches ( 28 by 28 cm ) Handles are about 14 inches ( 36cm )

The bag is in great vintage condition. Here and there on the flower centers you can see a little dark spot which is a mark for placing an embroidery dot.
