Soft, shiny and beautiful; can't you hear the compliments you will receive with this beauty around your neck?
This Jingle shell was found while walking along the beautiful beaches of North Carolina's Outer Banks. The constant tumbling of the ocean waves has given it a natural polish and smoothness.
Jingle Shell info:
Jingle shells (Anomia ephippium) are not hard to find; they can be found from Massachusetts to Brazil. Because of their appearance, wrinkled and polished, they have earned the nickname Mermaid Toenails. If you have had 2 or three of them in your pocket while shell hunting, you will understand why they are called jingle shells. They make a sweet jingling sound when jostled together. Their thinness may cause you to think they are fragile, but they are surprisingly sturdy little shells.
Each piece of my handmade jewelry arrives boxed in a linen box and tied with Organdy ribbon; ready for gift giving.
