A wax seal is a small, hand held instrument used for making an impression into heated wax. The impression typically seals and authenticates a document. The impression may consist of an emblem or initials, for example.

This one measures approximately 5.5cm x 3.5cm.

The base contains a 2cm, oval brass matrix which forms the letter D in a medieval style font.

There is light wear to the top but overall, this is in a very good condition.

The top features a concave, rosewood handle with a nice patina.

Nice, desirable, collectable item just waiting for a good home.
