This beautiful Edwardian guilloche enameled peacock pendant is very striking. The peacocks and the flowers are picked out in dark cobalt blue, green and dark red guilloche enamel. It dates to the early twentieth century 1910-1920's.
It is being offered for renovation and repair because of the condition of the silky rust coloured threads, cords and bindings I simply do not have the time to repair it in the way I would like. However it could be very simply renovated with just a plain rust colored rattail cord

The plaque itself is in very good vintage condition. There is only very slight damage at the edges of the plaque shown in photo 4 by the black > marks. They are barely visible to the naked eye and do not detract. There are also three tiny glass faux pearls hanging at the base and one of these has lost it's pearly nacre. However these small faults do not detract from a lovely item in good vintage condition that can easily be renovated with new cords; or made into a complete new piece of striking jewelry.

The cords and threads have darkened with age and individual silk threads have broken in several places. It is still perfectly wearable as it is, but the metallic thread bindings are looking a little tired and have separated. They have also tarnished with age. They were originally gold, but have now tarnished to a darker shade, not quite silver or gold.
The plaque measures 2-1/2ins(6.5cm) across at the widest point; and is 1-14/16ths ins 4.6cm deep measured at the centre. The cords on each side are 16-1/2ins long (41.9cm) to the sliding back knot which enables it to be shortened.

It could look really stunning repurposed with coral beads and baroque pearls,I had intended to re-make it with some gorgeous real coral beads but lack of time prevents me. I have an unused hank of vintage coral beads in an almost identical shade to the silk thread which would go beautifully with the plaque. Please convo me if you are interested.

It comes from a non-smoking, pet free environment. Do please read my terms and conditions before purchase. Shipping is non tracked and UK second class. Please convo me for tracked or first class prices.
