Hand-dyed superwash sock yarn, 80% merino wool / 20% nylon. Sock/fingering weight.

One-of-a-kind yarn colorways handpainted with light-fast acid dye using vinegar mordant. Colors spaced to avoid pooling. One skein is enough to make a pair of women's size 7 mid-calf socks; length will vary according to foot size, gauge and your knitting tension. Also suitable for shawls, neckwarmers, mittens and other accessories. The skein pictured is the skein you will receive.

One skein = 420 yards / 100 grams

Gauge: 6.75-8 sts = 1" on US #1-3 needles.

MACHINE WASH, TUMBLE DRY LOW. Superwash wool is treated to prevent felting and shrinkage when put through the washer/dryer cycle.

Dominant colors: bright red, cranberry red, grey and black. "BSSM" stands for "Blood Sugar Sox Magic", and is a play on words based on the album by the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

This was dyed on a Kraemer "Jeannie" base, which I was experimenting with. It's a smidgen finer than my standard base, but it takes the dye so well I'm considering adding it to my line.
