A vintage ceramic grater in the shape of a wide eyed owl.

Made from a slab of teardrop shaped pale gray clay with a transparent milky white glaze. It looks to have been hand pressed into a mold and the tiny feathers which form the grating surface have picked out with a V shaped tool. These are quite sharp and would be good for grating ginger. Two appear to be chipped as seen in the photos.

This piece dates to the late 1960's. There are no maker's marks; I think it might be Japanese.
Measures 6.25" long by 4.5" wide and is half an inch deep. Hole at the top for hanging. This would make a nice addtion to a retro kitchen. Thanks for looking!
