This is a horse's molar tooth set in sterling silver with soldered bronze runes.

The piece was inspired by my musings about how so few pagans really go out of their way to live their beliefs. One exception to this is Jalkr TempleKeeper who works with H\horses belonging to the Northern Traditional Gods on a farm. These animals are well fed and respectfully taken care of, and Jalkr goes out of his way to work with Odin on a personal and spiritual basis. As a pagan and a jeweler, this is my way of supporting him and those who work with them in truly living their vision of Heathen paganism and in caring for animals. In the modern day, horses are treated as commoditites by most. How often do we think of the horses who are ridden by our park and city police, about those who race or who give children rides at fairs? How often do we think about what a high percentage of them go to slaughter after their "useful" years are over?

The tooth here was bartered for from another person who works with animal remains. It has been stabilized with epoxy and varnish, and set in a sterling bezel with bronze runes. The background has been patinaed, and a sterling tag stamped with "Horse" (One of my species tags) has been attached with a jump ring. While the piece is stable, I would not recommend wearing it in the shower or in the water. I recommend gentle treatment in general for this pendant.

This would be a great gift for anyone who loves or works with horses. Over half the proceeds will be donated to this Northern Tradition Temple, and proof of this donation will be furnished to the buyer upon request. This item ships only within the United States for legal reasons.
