Hi there! This listing is for a .PDF FILE PATTERN DOWNLOAD -- no physical item will be shipped to you.

When I was contacted with a custom request asking if I can make crochet yellow and white bolts and dancing bears appliques in a variety of sizes for a custom wedding dress being handmade by a dressmaker in California, how could I possibly refuse?? YES! This idea warms my heart and we will make this happen, I said. Here is the result. (The pattern for the bears will be ready very soon.)

This five-page pattern gives tremendously detailed line-by-line row-by-row specific instructions, with a checkmark box prior to each row to easily track your progress.

There are also charts provided for all three bolt sizes with alternating numbers up the sides as row counts for a visual reference, though note that you DO NOT need to use the charts if you don’t want to--they are purely supplemental.

This pattern design in US crochet terms may not be distributed or sold as your own, but feel free to sell a finished item made from this pattern.

level: advanced (frequent foundation single crochets and frequent partial rows)

size: ANY; instructions are for:
small: 24 sts tall x 14 sts wide,
medium: 36 sts tall x 24 sts wide,
and large: 55 sts tall x 36 sts wide

yarn: ANY; choose yarn first, then choose hook based on yarn label recommendation

hook: ANY; go with what is on your chosen yarn label

standard skills: know how to ch (chain), sl st (slip stitch), sc (single crochet), work flat
back-and-forth turning the work over

special skill: fsc (foundation single crochet) creates a new ch and sc simultaneously;

**(on YouTube search ‘foundation single crochet’ for how-to videos)**

to create a STARTING fsc (from scratch)
ch 2, insert hook into 2nd ch from hook,
yarn over and pull back out with two loops remaining on hook,
yarn over and pull through ONE loop with two loops remaining on hook
(this creates the ch st where future fsc sts will insert into),
yarn over and pull through TWO remaining loops (this creates the sc st);
one starting fsc has been made

to create a CONTINUING fsc (right after an already existing fsc)
insert hook into prior fsc’s ch st,
yarn over and pull back out with two loops remaining on hook,
yarn over and pull through ONE loop with two loops remaining on hook
(this creates the ch st where future fsc sts will insert into),
yarn over and pull through TWO remaining loops (this creates the sc st);
one continuing fsc has been made

Feel free to contact me at any time with pattern questions that are not Google-able such as how to do a particular technique, and I'll typically get back to you within 24 hours.

Warmly,
Stace

This is a unique idea, so I wanted to give it a try. It's a great pattern and the liner I crocheted turned out to be softer than I expected, but it was just too thick to be comfortable for me. If you try out this pattern, I recommend using a soft, but very thin yarn. Quality pattern, though.

Super easy to follow and super easy to make. The only downside is that the ears were a bit small. probably an easy fix if I tweak the pattern a bit but I'm still a new crocheter. Would absolutely buy from the seller again.

Super excited to try this pattern. Will be awhile before I'm ready to make it for my husband blanket, though. When I contacted the seller, she was extremely knowledgeable and more than helpful! This will be my first chart pattern so I was nervous to buy but she ended all of my anxiety and I feel comfortable that if I have any issues that Stace will be able to go and beyond when answering. Couldn't be happier. Thanks so much

I made this as a gift. The person I gave it to loved it. Can be worn as a cute top or swimsuit coverup.
