Fiddleheads are one of my favorite indicators of spring. I just love to see them popping up along the sides of the road and in the backyard. Sensitive ferns are particularly charming as they unfurl. This tile was made using fiddleheads I collected in our backyard. After I pressed them into white stoneware clay and completed the tile, I made a plaster mold of it so that it may be replicated. It is glazed with a gorgeous green glaze that I mix by hand. This tile makes a perfect trivet or coaster. It also has an indentation in the back that allows you to easily hang it on the wall. I have added felt pads to the back to protect your wall or table. You may also choose to include it in a larger tile installation. It looks great with my smaller fiddlehead tile on either side.

Tile measurements:

Approx. 4 1/4 inches X 4 1/4 inches
Approx. 3/8 inch thick

Please note: The glaze I use for this tile varies a little from tile to tile. The tile you receive may not look exactly like the one pictured, but it guaranteed to be beautiful and unique!
