This is one of thirteen signed limited edition prints (#32 from an edition of 250) from a Correspondence Art-Postcard series I did a few years ago with some friends. Basically the idea is that you make a piece of postcard sized Art, scan it to save a digital version, then put the original in mail & hope it gets to its destination intact. Ideally your friend returns a new or modified piece of Art. At the end of the day you have not only made loads of Art & given it away - you have also received as well.

The Egg Series explores the tension and balance between Nature and Technology. Nature is represented here as The Egg, with its elegant, simple shell that is strong yet fragile, containing a complex world of potential. The Egg is surrounded and in some cases threatened by Technology, which takes the form of bits and pieces of antique engravings of machine parts. Ultimately, the integrity of The Egg remains intact, to suggest that Nature transcends Technology.

So - here is Egg #11 of the series (unframed) on acid-free paper ( 8.5" x 11") printed with archival ink. The original collage is 4" x 5.5" using vintage industrial imagery, pencil & gouache.

Fig.#5 shows the whole series of 13 framed.
