Pregnancy and baby loss effect one in every four families in the United States. The intention of this journal is for you to have a safe place for you to calm your heart and mind when navigating the journey of grief and loss. While there is no rule book to grief, and the experience is personal to each person, even those grieving the same loss, this journal has been developed as a guide for you to find time for self-care, reflection and connecting with your baby. You can write out your thoughts, feelings, hopes and dreams and disappointments freely. Most importantly, it can become a place for you to find hope and inspiration to create a legacy for your baby that can help the next family enduring the heartbreak of loss.

We encourage you to find a comfortable spot in your home, grab a pen and something you love to drink (perhaps coffee or tea), turn on some calming music and sit comfortably. Honor any emotion that comes, from the ugly cries to the happy smiles you experience thinking about your child and take a few deep calming breaths. Ask yourself....How am I feeling right now? Allow your mind, body and spirit a few minutes to become present and be honest. Feel each emotion that comes, knowing that it is only temporary, and that you are not alone. Feeling your emotions, especially those so immense and strong, can be very scary.

When you are ready, acknowledge your feelings and find the corresponding prompt/affirmation to find a “Heal Your Heart” exercise, meditation or guidance on how to work through those emotions. Please understand that as you walk this journey, your emotions can and will change. That is ok. Even if you don’t understand them. Just remember that it is ok to feel confused, overwhelmed or unsure. It’s okay to wonder what might happen next or where you should be on your personal grief journey. Part journal, part baby book and scrapbook, the goal is not to find answers, but to create something beautiful that you can always go to and find comfort. This journal is yours to do with whatever feels right to you as you heal your heart.

Sections include:
• Walking the Journey – details on understanding the unique grief of pregnancy and infant loss, how to create a grief plan, the five rights of bereaved parents, how to deal when others struggle to understand our heartache, “Heal Your Heart” exercises and managing grief, understanding the sacred bond between parent and child, ways to honor your baby now and for a lifetime, understanding triggers and nurturing your relationship with your partner during this time. ,
• My Precious Baby – Like a baby book, this is a place for you to keep details and notes about your baby, share photos, thoughts, feelings and even write a poem in their memory.

Our mission is tri-fold – 1. We provide immediate and long-term support to families experiencing the loss of a pregnancy and baby through various peer supported programs and services. 2. We support the education and training of medical professionals so they can support the emotional, physical, and spiritual needs of perinatal loss families. 3. We, along with the thousands of other perinatal loss advocates and we work to #shatterthestigma of pregnancy and infant loss globally.

Our organization provides all of our social services at no cost to the family. We also do not directly solicit for support to the families we serve, however, we greatly appreciate the support of our families with whom choose to give back to us after we have walked their journey. Our volunteer-based non-profit depends on the support of the local community to continue to keep our services for free to everyone. Thank you for your on-going support, kindness and sharing of our information and resources! I lost our baby May 4, 2017 when I was 13 weeks but only measured a 5 week baby. I had no ultrasound pictures, just nothing at all because it happened sp early on. I ordered the care package because I felt it would be something to remember our baby by and a little memorial tp represent our angel... it took me 10 years w/o any birth control to get pregnant again (I have an older son) and my husband and I got pregnant with this baby on our honeymoon. My heart breaks every single day but this box has helped me in so many ways. I saved my pregnancy tests and added them in the box and I added some other things to it. I also write letters to my baby in the journal that came with it. Everytime I bring this box out it makes me feel like I am closer to him/her. Thank you so much for this it is really helping me cope!

I’m super excited to give this as a birthday gift for my boyfriend (& myself). We recently found out that we were pregnant in October, unfortunately it was an ectopic pregnancy, but I believe he is going to love the remembrance of our little one that we were excited to have until we received this heartbreaking news. I’m hoping this will give us a little hope for our rainbow to shine on us one day!! Thank you so much, I’m obsessed already.
