Patterns in all forms, capture our senses. I wanted to design something here that exhibited this sensory art form, and what better way to be inspired than with the geisha. The literal translation of the word Geisha is Artisan. A worker in a skilled trade, especially one that involves making things by hand. Geisha, even in these modern times, though rare, dedicates a great portion of her life as an apprentice, perfecting the skill of creative entertainment, through movement, mysterious yet enlightening and poised conversation, music and an adorning of the finest of traditional makeup hair and clothing. She is the embodiment of femininity in art form.
This work was done digitally, by compositing various patterned images into simple traditional oriental shapes.
