This beautiful horse painting, Looks Twice, emerged from the ashes of loss. I was traveling through South Dakota and Utah with my artwork, and ALL of my original paintings were stolen at the airport. Try as I may, they were never recovered. I allowed myself a time of mourning for my loss, and then began to paint the images again. While, "skillfully" they were better, somehow they didn't "feel" the same. I quickly realized that what I was really trying to recapture was the "experience within me" that occurred during the 1st painting's creation. What a beautiful lesson!!!!. . . not just for art, but for life!!!! Sometimes we need to Look Twice at a painful loss so we don't miss any of the lessons it has to offer us. Looking Twice can also help us remember moments in our lives when we were at our best, which can help us to create more of those moments, now, and in the future. I hope this art encourages you to connect with the spirit and strength of the horse as you explore times of growth in your own life, and never forget . . . enjoy the ride!!!!
