Yarn bowls are a great invention for keeping your yarn from escaping. This one was born on the wheel out of a lump of porcelain. After it was trimmed an Indian elephant was stamped into a slab of porcelain clay, cut out and attached to the bowl with slip. Holes for the yarn were punched out and cleaned. Then after the first firing, the bowl and elephant was glazed. The elephant is a Sedona orange and the bowl is teal. It's a nice size, measuring 5 3/4" wide and 2 3/4" tall. Signed and dated.
