Sweet antique ring with a high tiffany-style setting. Circa 1910.

Set with a dark red garnet. Cranberry highlights in the sun, very dark red the rest of the time. Rather gothic. Perhaps this was mourning jewelry.

Size 6.25.

Marked 10k inside the band, along with a maker's mark of R.B.R.

The setting sits 1/4 of an inch off the finger and the diameter of the stone is also 1/4 of an inch. The prongs are worn but the stone is secure in its setting.

On close inspection, the stone has 3 flaws, one flea bite along a facet, one on the outer edge and a wee scratch on the center of the stone.

Light and easy to wear, this would make a wonderful valentine.
