Title: Cat in the Lap

Medium: Hand pulled 6.75 x 5.5 inch Silk Aquatint with Colored Pencil

Support: BFK Rives paper

Process: Silk Aquatints are made by adhering silk to a rigid plate, and painting an image over the fabric with white acrylic that will block ink from settling into the cross sections of the weave. Once the plate is inked and wiped and printed, the painting is visible in reverse on the aquatint. See the process photos in the listing for more information. After I pulled the print, I added colored pencil.

Edition: This is an edition of one.

Frame: The art is offered here *unframed*. If you'd like it framed, please contact me for an estimate.

Story: The image was painted from a photo taken in the 70's of an adolescent girl and her lilac point siamese cat.
