This 1865 bound edition of Harper's New Monthly Magazine was published as the Civil War was ending. There are numerous references to events that took place throughout the War. It's a fascinating look back. There are 6 months of magazines bound into this large volume - 816 pages! This is Volume 32 and includes magazines from December, 1865 to May, 1866. There are 240 illustrations listed in the front of the book.

Some of the topics covered in this edition include:

THE SEVEN DAYS BATTLES ON THE PENINSULA
THE BRITISH ROUTE FOR A PACIFIC RR
CHARLES ELLET AND HIS NAVAL STEAM RAMS
THE RED JACKET MEDAL
IN AND AROUND RICHMOND
HEROIC DEEDS OF HEROIC MEN
THE NAVY IN THE NORTH CAROLINA SOUNDS
THE LAST YEARS OF SAM HOUSTON
LIVINGSTONE'S LAST AFRICAN EXPEDITION

Fascinating look into Victorian life with lots of beautiful illustrations, stories, poetry, articles, travel, current events from the US and Europe, and much more.

This volume is in very good condition - tightly bound - no tears. There may be slight discoloration of some of the pages or some spotting related to age but nothing major - and no musty or objectionable odors. The cover is worn which should be expected with a book of this age.
