Beautiful antique gilded wood art nouveau picture frame from the famed Lipman, Wolfe & Co. in Portland. Self-standing swing frame, with antique photograph portrait.

This wonderful frame with pivoting bottom support, to stand on its own, measures approximately 12 inches tall. The visible portion of the image - the inside of the frame - measures 5 and 3/4" by 9 and 3/4" so it is taller and narrower than many standard frames. The frame and swivel base are made of wood, with the lovely swirling details accented in gold colored paint, and a few little rubbed areas with rust red peaking through. Little original screws hold the swivel base to the frame.

The frame contains a lovely antique black and white photograph portrait of a couple, which can remain framed or be switched out for a picture of your own, of course. A chalkboard would also look exceptional in this frame.

The condition is structurally very good, with plenty of superficial wear. The surface of the painted wood has many rubbed, knocked, flecked bits (represented accurately in the photographs, and best seen in photo #2). As well, the back paper is torn and should likely be removed, though I would personally keep the very top portion intact where the original tag can be found. There are some little nail holes (I believe) on the bottom corners, which are completely out of sight when the frame is standing.
