Measuring just 3" across and 2 " high, this wondrous object captures a whole scene in microcosm. Nestled inside an opened clamshell is a village scene complete with a building, a footbridge, a dog, and a stream with a roofed boat. Trees are in the foreground, the scene rendered in soft tones of brown, coral and a blue stream. The top bears a faux carving of Mt. Fuji (whose name means "everlasting life") in the distance and buildings in the foreground, perhaps a palace or temple.
This collectible recreates a type of scene, created in earlier times in carved ivory, by the use of either plastic or celluloid with cast and glued elements.
This small collectible is in excellent condition.
