I wore this nurse's cap proudly in the 1970s when nurses still looked like nurses. I'm not sure what material it was made of, but it is rather sheer with pleats all the way around. The black band indicated that this cap was being worn by a Registered Nurse as opposed to an LPN or Nurse Aid. Only selling this one because I still have my more traditional nurse's cap. I hated giving up my cap when the powers that be decided it was just a status symbol and not necessary. But, I have always thought that a nurse wearing a white starched uniform dress, white nylons and white shoes with her nurses cap looked much better then the dress of today (pants and top with flowers or Teddy Bears on them). Perhaps there is a nurse out there somewhere who lost her cap along the way.
