This Kanawha vase comes from the personal collection of my friend Baiomy. A wandering spirit for many years, Baiomy has amassed a staggeringly eclectic collection of mementos and collectables from his international travels -- including a vast vintage lighter collection. (Many of the lighters I restore are from Baiomy's collection.) As my dear friend prepares to pull-up his tent stakes once again, he has asked me to help pare down his collection. This is one of two authentic Kanawha art glass vases from Baiomy's collection, probably from the 1950s or 1960s.

Began in West Virginia when artisans from a local failed glass company joined together to start a new business in 1953, the Kanawha Glass Company grew in popularity throughout the 1960s and continued producing its line of art glass products until 1987. Made using opaque milk glass, this vase is bulbous in shape with a free-formed, flowing scalloped top. The inside and fringed mouth of the vase are cased with vivid red glass. It's in beautiful condition with no chips, cracks, or flaws. I've provided high quality photos to offer the best preview of this item. Please take a look and feel free to ask any questions. Dimensions are approximately 5" diameter and 6-1/4" tall.
