Title- Sage
Alpaca Wool, Pearl Cotton, Linen & Horse Hair
187 inches x 14 wide
This eco-friendly hand-woven weaving is extremely long and wide. The weaving can be used as a wall hanging, fiber art piece, or a table runner. While creating this piece I was inspired by Montana’s mountain range and the landscape in the west, my objective was to form shapes that traveled upward.
When I began the brocade, I wanted to explore how different textiles would react against the linen. Working sculpturally with the weaving, I chose bulkier yarn with various line work involved. The loose alpaca wool and horse hair extends out from the brocade, providing an interesting contrast. Dying various yarns by hand, I was pleased to present a pale green color, which represents the sage that grows wild in Montana's beautiful surroundings. The yarn was hand dyed using carrot greens, beets, avocado skins, onion skins and tumeric. Made with love <3 Hope you Enjoy!
