This is a genuine, wearable, Victorian English mourning brooch, circa 1860-70. It is tiny--only about 1.25 inch long. It is low-carat gold and has a fully functioning pinback with a pin that extends far past the body of the brooch, which typical of the era. Inside the viewing compartment are two locks of hair--one blond and one dark blond to light brown--that are each tied with thread and laid over what looks like pressed paper.

Because this item is more than 150 years old, it is being sold AS IS. I purchased this from an English dealer and have had it in my collection for about 10 years. I am selling some of my lesser items, as my collection has substantially grown.
