ITEM DESCRIPTION: Pancakes and cake batters would be delighted at the chance to cavort in such beautiful bowls. Their rich brown speckled interiors contrast nicely with their natural clay exteriors lending them a classic 1970s earthenware look, and these bowls are sturdy enough for daily mixing duty yet lovely enough for countertop display.

DECOR STORY: Bennington Potters batter bowls are so popular that they still produce them more than forty years after introducing them to cooks everywhere. They have built in handles and pour spouts and are excellent for mixing and, of course, pouring batters. Bennington bowls are completely handmade by skilled artisans; they are very heavy and stable, and each bowl is clearly and beautifully marked on its base.

CONDITION: Excellent, with no chips or cracks, and only a few minor scratches and some rough patches on the interior glaze.

SIZE: The large bowl holds 1-1/2 quarts and is 9.5" wide by 5" high, the small holds 1/2 quart and is 5" in diameter by 3.4" high.

CIRCA: 1970s

SHIPPING: Etsy shipping estimates are based on a national rate and this item is quite heavy so the standard shipping rate reflects the maximum possible cost. If you are located closer to us in Los Angeles the shipping may be substantially less (often around half as much). Please contact us for a more accurate estimate if you are concerned about the rate, and be aware that we will automatically refund shipping cost overpayments above two dollars without your needing to ask. Also, because this item is breakable, the shipping costs do automatically include insurance.
