Vintage wall hanging rug, natural colors in ochre, cream and natural grey/brown - this wall hanger has some age and 'life' to it. Areas of surface losses shown in image 3, overall fading and spots shown in all images. Eye Dazzlers and stripes. Circa 1960s possibly from Crystal Trading Post.

Most likely made for the tourist trade, these rugs are sometimes called "Gallup Throws" for the popular destinations in Gallup New Mexico in the 50s and 60s. Nothing wrong with blankets made as souvenirs, they make nice display pieces and can be inexpensive backing for a collection of pottery, jewelry or baskets.

This would make a great throw, wall hanger, stitched into a pillow or even a small floor rug.
measures 23 x 38
