A vintage, clear glass Half Pint Milk Bottle from Bowman Dairy, Chicago Eight Ounces

Roughly 5 inches tall, it has some random surface scratches & scuffs from age & use, typical of milk bottles that moved around so often

Embossed as follows below the neck on both sides: BOWMAN DAIRY COMPANY:

Embossed as follows near the base:

Front of bottle: PROPERTY OF AND FILLED BY BOWMAN DAIRY COMPANY CHICAGO IL, NOT SOLD

Back reads: HALF PINT SEALED

Bottom is embossed: B D Co

There's "MTC" on the side, with T covering both letters (appears to be an "M", though it might be some other similar letter

This little botlle is compact enough as a desktop holder of many fine tings, or use as a compact, recycled vase

For kicks, here's an excerpt from the Encyclopedia of Chicago regarding Bowman:

"In 1891, Bowman and his brothers decided to sell their St. Louis operation and move to Chicago, where they formed the Bowman Dairy Co. This company soon became one of the leading suppliers of dairy products and eggs in the Chicago area. During the 1920s, it opened large bottling plants on the South Side. By the middle of the 1930s, Bowman employed over 3,000 Chicago-area residents. The company continued to carry on a large business until 1966, when it was purchased by a local rival, the Dean Foods Co."
