Now here is an attractive piece for a “man-cave.” World Discoverer globe made by Scan-Glove A/S denmark copyright 1980. This unique globe illuminates casting a nice warm glow. The globe, references explorers Christopher Columbus, James Cook, Vasco da Gama Ferdinand Magellan, Abel J. Tasman, Charles Wilkes and Alexander von Humboldt. The legend targets city populations, ocean currents, and scale.
The globe sits on a wooden base that is slightly discolored most likely due to the sun. There are 3 weather dials; a thermometer, barometer and relative humidity but I am not sure how accurate they are. The globe rotates easily by turning the plastic base below however it can bee a little noisy when doing so. Overall the globe is in good vintage condition and it has been taken care of over time.

- A spotter light inside that highlights and focuses in on a location when the right knob is moved.
- Directions for changing the light bulb on the bottom of base.
- A handy on/off switch on the cord of the plug

Height 17”
Diameter 12”
Base Length 10.25”
Base Width 7.25”
