"Curvature" - A plane curve is a set C of ordered pairs of the form f(t), g(t) where the functions f and g are continuous on an interval I. A curve C is called smooth if it has a parametric representation x=f(t), y=g(t) on an interval I such that the derivations f' and g' are continuous on I and are not simultaneously zero, except possibly at any end points of I. The graph of a smooth curve has no corners and if a plane curve C is revolved about a line on the plane, a surface of revolution is generated.

This pencil and charcoal sketch is my way of combining my love of math and art. The drawing resides on page 347 of a calculus book. The sketch size including matt is 14" by 10" with the sketch approximately 10 3/4" by 8". The listing includes the original sketch and matt. The piece is signed and dated on the back.

Please convo me with any questions. The piece will be shipped in a protective sleeve and backing to protect it from bending.
