A piece of beauty which doubles as a very useful tool when completing old fashioned hand crafts. Just palming this wooden piece will bring you back to the days of yesteryear and make you yearn to darn holes by the hearth once again! :)

As practical as it is pretty: I've owned and used mine many times and love it, so we've finally decided to offer this hard-to-find-tool for those who would like to repair their own socks as well.

Hand turned on the lathe of hardwood maple, this piece measures approx. 12" long with a 2.5'' egg, and is sanded silky smooth and finished with a natural oil and beeswax.

Made to order. May vary slightly from pictures shown.

Frequently asked questions about thatfamilyshop

All of our items are made-to-order, usually from rustic and wild materials, so expect your piece to be similar, but not exactly like the photos shown. We do our best to capture typical examples, but your piece may or may not feature knots, dark heartwood or small drying cracks as shown in photos.
We will ship most of our smaller items internationally, but please be aware of your country's customs laws as they apply to the import of wood bark and lichen. In rare cases, you may be subject to sterilization fees for customs clearance, for which we cannot be held responsible.
Please understand that most of our items are crafted upon purchase from fresh, green wood. It takes time to carefully build and dry your item, so expect to wait up to two weeks before shipment.
