Rare antique French trophy cup in silverplate. I have been lucky enough to find two of these rare French trophies from French "paquepots" or mail ships. This beauty measures 7.25" tall x 6" wide. Engraved on the front is "Paquebot Liberte". Done in silverplate, it has a lovely patina and would polish to a high shine if you desire.

"Paquebot" means packet boat and refers to an item mailed on a ship. "Liberte" was the name of the ship. "Paquebot" is French for mailboat. Paquebots were first used in 1894, the term was adopted for general use by the Universal Postal Union in 1897.

This is one of two of these that I have found, the other being available in another listing. If you collect trophy cups, these would make a fabulous addition. Great for the french or shabby decor as well. Decorating with vintage trophy cups is all the rage!

We do ship outside the US, please convo me for rates.
