This is a beautiful 1930s Royal KHM typewriter is a classic black colored machine with glass top keys. The serial number on this machine dates it to 1935 the model number is KHM12 which means it has a 12 inch wide paper roller and it would be great for wide sheets of paper such as scrap book paper. This is a wonderful example of preserved history. This machine followed the Royal No. 10 typewriters with a few updates. The main update being that the sides are made with metal instead of the beveled glass.

This sports a shiny black finish that was popular for the period. The paint on this machine has the usual wear for its age. There are a a few scuffs here and there but nothing to distract you from this beauty. All glass top keys are all clean and clear and in good condition.

This machine offered very sophisticated features that were unavailable to portable machines. Because of its heavy duty construction, Royal desk models were preferred by business professionals, journalists and schools at the time.

I have used many Royals and the KHM's are a pleasure to use. It's a true treasure and a classic beauty. The machine is clean, oiled, and has a new black ribbon. None of the keys stick, the carriage advances as it should, and the bell dings at the end of each line. The only thing that I noticed while using the machine is that the capitol letters are a tiny bit higher than the lower case letters and this can be seen in the photograph of the type.

This is an extremely heavy duty typewriter. I will ship this via UPS and I will take great care that it is packed properly. Since there is not a case with this model, I will double box the machine and make sure that the carriage will not move during shipping. I only use new packing materials it's up to you to recycle.
