This piece is simply amazing....I recieved information from one who knew more than I about this low throne chair. I was right about it being from the Victorian period, but apparently it was part of the Anglo Japanese aesthetic movement, usually made in the northeast United States.

Laquering and carvings are older than early century, and there are no makers marks. Likely made from cherry, then ebonized. Upholstery on it now is not what I would have chosen for it, but in very good shape, and does look good. These pics do not show intricate cage style carvings in sides of frame.

For dimensions, more extensive pictures, or with questions, just convo....thanks for coming....
