Monoprint
2011

hand pulled on BFK Rives Printmaking Paper
Paper Size 18.5" x 22.5"
Image Size 16" x 20"

Part of the print album 'ChaosTheory'

This is one of set of larger prints from 2011 in which byproduct from other print work takes center stage and performs its own intricate dance.

It is part of a series of bolder, more radiant color combinations and a study in contrast in bold and faded, back and front, large and small, intricate and bold.

The shapes mainly derived from other prints in the form of disassembled handcut paper stencils and templates, in particular one figure-like shape (Where'sWaldo?) in the midst of a multi-dimensional dense layering of intense colors and bold shapes over the ghost print from another series. WaldoGate includes some elements of pencil drawing over the main figure that resemble a gate or a fence, hence the title of this piece.

It reflects my fascination with saturated colors such aqua blue, orange, yellow, red and fuchsia - alone and in combination with some hints of lime green. The superimposed ink line drawing as well as the pencil elements bring another layer of detail and shifts the whole into focus.

Color rendition and intensity may vary on different monitors.
