♛The Details

Gloriously pretty, very rare example of ca. 1930s hand-work, a beautiful floral crochet gown in dreamy ivory with matching grosgrain ribbon sweeping twice around the lower skirt, finished with lovely flat bows. The flowers even have leaves and vines! I love the pretty, feminine details! Puffed shoulders, ruched bust, body skimming fit. Meant to be worn over a slip -- so you can change its look by changing the slip's color.

Note: I'm sure you already know this, but the writing seen is printed on my dress form, not the dress. It's showing through the sheer fabric. :)

No closures; just slip on gently over the head and wiggle it down to fit.

I think this would even make a sweet wedding gown for an unconventional bride.

All accessories (belts, jewelry, crinolines, pins, etc.) are for style inspiration only unless indicated.

♛The Measurements

About a modern size S/XS. It does have lots of stretch, but caution should be exercised with this early textile. My dress form is a 2, and it fit her well. A modern 4 should also fit well. You should have relatively small shoulders to slip this dress on and off easily (a hidden snap placket could be easily installed on the side seam by your seamstress or tailor, if this is a concern).
Bust (underarm to underarm, measured flat then doubled): 32" stretches easily to 38"
Waist: 26" stretches easily to 30"
Hips: 34" stretches easily to 44"
Length, center of back collar measured down to hem: 55"

♛The Condition

Excellent, strong and sturdy vintage shape with no overt flaws or issues that I could find. Really clean and a fabulous example from the era! Clean underarms! Under the photo lamps, I found a tiny hole located above the rear hemline -- about the size of a pea -- which I can't seem to find again under normal lighting. I did photo it, if you'd like to take a look, but I can tell you that it's not something that would ever be noticed due to its obscure location and the fact that this dress will be layered over a slip.
