Welcome and thanks for visiting!

This is my second shop on Etsy dedicated to coins, medals, tokens and much more. If you like old and vintage ephemera, photos, post cards and more please make sure you visit my other shop SamEphemera.

I am offering the Political and Social Series London (Middlesex) copper Conder halfpenny token dated 1795.

Conder Tokens, also known as 18th Century Provincial Tokens, were first minted in 1787 by the Parys Mining Company that mined copper ore. They had plenty of copper, access to mints, and there was little low value coinage to be had in Anglesey thus they began minting their own penny and half penny tokens. Not long after, others would follow suit and begin designing and minting their own small denomination coinage.

OBVERSE: Helmeted bust of a knight to the right with legend: “FOR GENERAL CONVENIENCE”.

REVERSE: Shield of lion rampant on tassels with legend: “HALFPENNY TOKEN 1795”.

Edge: Diagonally milled edge.

Measurement: 28.5 mm in diameter.

Weight: 10.2 grams.

Condition: VF+ (Very Fine+), see photos.

The token you see in the photo is the token you get.

As a coin collector I DO NOT clean any of my coins/tokens to preserve the original patina, if you wish to clean the coin/s I will leave it up to you.

I’m willing to drill a hole in the token with NO extra cost if you needed for Jewelry Making.

Fantastic for your jewelery, craft projects, Steampunk, collage art projects or just a great addition to your tokens collection.
