About the woods used...

SHEDUA - Guibourtia Ehie - Also Known as Ovangkol, Mozambigue, Amazique, among others.
The tree is native to Northern Africa, & grows organically in Gabon, Ghana, Ivory Coast, & Nigeria.
Shedua is a truly beautiful wood, that is closely related to Bubinga, The Heartwood of Shedua is prized for its curly figure when quartersawn, displaying a wide range of colors from a golden-brown to a darker brown with black stripes. The sapwood is a creamy white. Shedua is a heavy and durable wood with good working properties. The grain is usually interlocked and the texture is moderately coarse. Another fine, durable & exquisite exotic hardwood.

BOCOTE - Cordia Elaeagnoides
The tree is native to Mexico, Central America, and South America. Sometimes sold as Cordia spp.
Bocote is a hard, dense, and fairly oily tropical wood that is highly prized for its dramatic, wild striping. These dark brown or black streaks, which sometimes form in concentric circles, give Bocote its defining look and lend finished products a truly distinctive appearance. The heartwood of Bocote ranges in color from brown to golden brown — with, of course, those telltale dark streaks weaving throughout — and its sapwood is yellowish. Bocote's grain can vary widely, from straight to interlocked. A truly beautiful exotic hardwood!

KATALOX - Swartzia Cubensis
The tree is native to Central America
The sapwood is creamy white or off-white in color, while the heartwood can range from brown or reddish brown to very dark brown & sometimes appearing nearly black. The grain is generally straight but can sometimes be wavy or interlocked, and the texture is usually fine to medium. Katalox is a very dense and hard wood, much harder than oak or hard maple, making it very heavy as well. The luster is considered to be medium, & it finishes very well.

AVODIRE – Turraeanthus Africanus
The tree is native to the Ivory coast area of west Africa. Avodire also grows in Sierra Leone, Cameroon, Gabon, Zaire and Angola.
Avodire is also referred to as Blonde mahogany. It is a rare wood that has many of the same tonal qualities and workability of mahogany, it is credited as being one of the most beautiful of all blonde woods, even the less decorative boards. The light-colored heartwood will darken to a golden color when cut. There is not much difference in color between sapwood and heartwood. It is often highly mottle figured. When polished it has a lustrous surface, also reminiscent of mahogany. The grain is mostly straight but is often wavy or irregularly interlocked, producing a very attractive mottled figure on quartered surfaces and is often termed African Satinwood.
