Original, beautifully detailed two-sided engraving of rubber tree varieties.

The print shows: 1. Hevea guianensis, 2. Manihot Glaziovii - Ceara Rubber or Manigoba, 3. Landolphia florida - White Rubber Vine, 4. Castilloa elastica - Panama Rubber Tree, 5. Palaquium gutta - Gutta Percha.

The reverse side shows: 1. Kickxia elastica, 2. Hancornia speciosa - Mangaba, 3. Willoughbya coriacea, 4. Ficus elastica - Rubber Fig, Rubber Bush or Rubber Tree, 5. Sapium verum.

The size of the print: 9,6" x 6,3" (24,5 x 16 cm) including its border.
Printed in 1896, Bibliographisches Institut Leipzg Germany, as an illustration for the 5th edition of "Meyers' Konversations Lexikon".

The print is in good condition, the paper shows its age with creamy patina, perfect for framing.

Concerning the age of the paper - cca. 115 years - some spots can be occured on the margin and the reverse side, but these do not effect the quality of the print itself as it can be seen on the scan.

Please note, that by antique prints due to their age some imperfections are to be expected.
