This ebook is more of a case study and covers a very interesting coloring technique which I derived from the Flemish masters, who used numerous layers and golden underpainting to create realistic and luminous masterpieces.
I extracted a fundamental part of that process and adapted it to coloring with colored pencils. Flemish masters used an olive or honey colored underpainting before adding any type of color. Additionally, a second layer used brown, or umber, to further the exploration of light and shadow without the distraction of color.

This tutorial delivers exactly what’s promised. Instructions are clear and thorough. The techniques I learned instantly elevated my artwork, although there is a slight learning curve if you aren’t accustomed to using markers. That said, it’s an engaging challenge with wonderful results. I can’t wait to purchase my next lesson. This really helped me to view shading in a whole different light (lol)! Seriously, I thought I was doing a pretty good job with my shading, but this really changed the way I do it and has brought my tangles to a whole different level. This is another Fantastic book. Eni explains very clearly in the e-book each process has pictures and discription which is easy to follow. I have been enjoying this book so much, I found it very very relaxing as you find yourself transfixed on the drawing you are creating from Eni's instructions. You'll get lost in this pastime! Easy to follow instructions, perfectly illustrated. I hope to use these skills in jewellery design (wire wrapping), but they are also sooo relaxing to draw. I have the zentangle Houses too and loved creating fantastical villages.
