Original bib necklace features a dense cluster of multiple strands of coppery orange freshwater pearls all linked to copper plated steel rings with copper Czech Glass seed beads. This thick, rich texture can be dressed up or dressed down-casual, business or formal. A hand painted silk ribbon, made by an American artisan, slips through the rings in order to adjust this bib to the best length for your different neck lines and preferences.

Clustered as a bib, the pearl focal point is just about 11" long and drops about 1 1/4" in front. The five cascading tiers of pearls, each pearl strand is bracketed by some copper colored Czech glass seed beads that help create the juncture, as all five strands are gathered together, to join a large copper plated steel ring. I created antique finished crimp covers to hide the crimps. The artisan dyed and stitched silk ribbon threads through these rings, a ribbon that shades from a muted orange through shades of warm brown. This ring and ribbon connection, my original design, allow the pearl bib to be worn at just the right length needed for your different necklines. It also allows for the exchange of ribbon used to tie the necklace on.

Will you dress it up or down? Find your own favorite style as the dyed silk ribbon is 42" long so paired with the handmade pearl focal point, can be worn many different ways. A few different lengths are illustrated here and other looks are shown in other listings for similar pieces here in my studio.

The dyed freshwater pearls, shades of warm copper, are each about 7 x 5 mm, have wonderful organic rice shapes, and are top drilled which all contribute to this wonderful texture when all are gathered together. Over 45" of pearls, as measured on a tight strand, are used to make this rich statement bib. The edition size is 5 and I created this design in January, 2012. There are two left in this edition 8-3-13.

Pearl necklaces are carefully packed into cotton filled, decorative boxes, all ready to give or to keep. Orders are shipped to the address that you use with PayPal. Gift wrapping and shipping are always available, just make a note to seller when you check out and include an alternate address there with a gift message, if desired.

Pearls have been worn and prized for their beauty since prehistory. They are the birthstone for June and one of my favorite materials to use again and again. Please check out other original necklaces that incorporate pearls http://www.etsy.com/shop/WillOaksStudio?section_id=7631294
