This old, late 1800s, Victorian era, Sad Iron has no manufacture on it but has the date, Nov 2, 97, stamped into it, right under where the handle sits. This is an average size iron. It measures 6 1/2" from tip of front to tip of back. It's just over 3" wide at it's widest part. Height is 4 1/2". There is also the number 1 stamped into it.

This displays very well. It is in great condition. It is not rusty. The bottom shows wear from use, which makes it even better in my opinion. The latch on the handle works good for it's age. I wouldn't carry it around by the handle, but it could probably be done. I can pick it up by the handle and it doesn't feel like it will fall off, as many old sad irons do.
