Incredible Large Vintage Signed Nez Tribe Sterling Silver Bear Claw Belt Buckle.

The Nez Perce Indians are a tribe that lived in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. At the time of the Lewis and Clark expedition, the Nez Perce territory covered about 17 million acres, covering parts of Washington, Oregon, and Idaho.

This belonged to a collector friend of mine who purchased it wholesale from the Reservation back in the early 1980's.

A fantastic signed and collectable belt buckle with exceptional raised details of leaves and a squash blossom flower overlapping a large bear claw. 4 of the nails of the claw are standing upright and one is laying flat.

Stunning, heavy tribal piece with the absolute wonderful workmanship of the Nez Tribe.
This one appears to have been designed by either Seo or Geo Nez. Please see close up of the hallmark.

It weighs over 113 grams, and measures a large impressive 4.5 inches long, 3.5 at it's widest, and one inch high.

The belt buckle fits a up to a 1 3/4 belt size.

Multidimensional, multi decorated, fabulously designed piece to last a lifetime.
