I threw this bowl on wheel with the finest porcelain then scalloped the rim for some beautiful variation. Then I hand trimmed it to give it an elegant and form fitting foot on the base. I then bisque fired it to cone 06 and glazed it in 5 different glazes that I mixed myself. This is some of the high quality craftsmanship you will ever find. I am meticulous with every step of the process. These glazes are jewel like and have the translucency of glass.

7" wide

This work is wheel thrown from the HIGHEST quality porcelain and fired 10 hours to 2400 degrees in a large reduction gas kiln. I have fumbled and grumbled over my glazes for the last 8 years to get the effects I have here on this piece. Most potters' work on ETSY is low fire electric fired which can be less durable, fired by a computer, and often glazes are store bought (same process commercial pottery). This piece and all my pieces are food-safe and literally have a jewel-like surface to them. This is because of the higher temperature, controlled cooling cycle, and advanced glaze formulation I have developed. These glazes are so glossy and the form so elegant that people are often asking me if my work is blown glass!

Thank you SO MUCH for looking!

Peace to you,

Purple, Blue, and Redwood Brown Serving Bowl
