This is a brand new item. I just finished it today. It is made from New AND Vintage Aurora Borealis Austrian Lead Crystal Glass Beads.

The Heart Shaped Pendant is New and 28MM (about an Inch) Wide. The necklace is about 18 and 1/2 Inches long from Clasp to Jump Ring.

The Smallest of the Beads, the first 7 on each side of the Focal, are also New. They are by Crystazzi, and are 6MM.

All of the others are Vintage and range from 6MM to 12MM. I bought them at a Flea Market/Antique Show.

The Clasp, Bail, Jump Ring, and Crimps are all Bright Silver.

Swarovsky is the first Name in Austrian Crystal Beads, but I have no way of identifying who made these Vintage Beads. In 1956, the Company made their first AB Beads. A special treatment added to the outside of each Bead gives it the Rainbow/Prism effect.

The Vintage Beads are also heavy which makes me think that they are Lead Crystal. Sometimes up to 50% of the weight of the bead is due to the Lead Oxide added into it. The Lead also makes it reflect light better so that it sparkles inside the bead. They are really beautiful. Lead makes the glass softer so that it's easier to cut and engrave.

I'm pretty sure, but not one hundred per cent, that they are Fire Polished rather than hand cut. Fire Polishing is when the round beads are ground on a wheel then put back into the Fire just long enough to melt the surface,"polishing" out any dings from the wheel.

The name of this Beautiful Piece of Jewelry comes from me in my kitchen watching a snow flurry while the sun was brightly shining. The individual flakes sort of reflected the suns rays and they sparkled. That then led me to Snow, then off on a tangent to a Snow Queen...My son started talking about Harry Dresden and that is what finally ended me up here:

"Queen Mab, is the Winter Queen, Ruler of the Winter Court, and second in power behind Mother Winter, Ruler of the Unseelie Court."

She's a Member of the Fae and has been called one of the Threefold Goddesses, in her form as Mother. Mab can mean "Queen Wolf" or "Drunk Woman."

She has been called Queen of the Fae and classified as a member of the Tuatha de Nanaan, but this hasn't been proven one way or another. And the Pagan September Holiday Mabon is supposedly named for her.

In Keltic lore, she is also know as Queen Maeve. The word "Maeve" means "mead" and it was rumoured that she gave the drink to all of her consorts. It was also considered to be part of women's magick and it made the males more in tune with their female sides, representing in it's dark blood like colour menstrual blood.

She's been written about by folks as varied as William Shakespeare, Edmund Spencer, and Percy Bysshe Shelly.

I will gladly combine shipping for more than one item.

Please convo me for shipping if you're not from the States.
