100g (3.5oz) of Roving, from Manx Loaghtan Sheep.

This wool is lovely and soft, and some how very "wooly" feeling

Commercially prepared fibre (tops).

This breed of sheep is considered to be "At Risk" by the Rare Breeds survival trust.
This breed of sheep is indigenous to the Isle of Man, but flocks now exist outside the island in other parts of the UK for conservation purposes, the word Loaghtan means mouse-brown in Manx, and that really does describe the colour of this wool perfectly.

This breed is a primitive one, in the same family as Soay, Hebridean, Shetland, Boreray and North Ronaldsay. However it's fleece is relatively fine, micron count is 29-31.

To see all my other batts, roving, and dyed tops and more take a look around the rest of the shop
