Our Thumbling PDF hand embroidery pattern would be the a lovely little decoration for a sewing room, or maybe even to adorn a project bag!

“A certain Tailor had a son who was so very diminutive in stature that he went by the nickname of Thumbling; but the little fellow had a great deal of courage in his soul, and one day he said to his father, ‘I must and will travel a little.’ ‘You are very right, my son,’ replied his father; ‘take a long darning-needle with you ... and then you will have a sword to travel with.’” (from 'The Travels of Thumbling')

On his travels, the tiny Thumbling finds himself on a great adventure - he must even hide under a thimble to keep from being swatted! He is a bit of a cheeky little Thumbling though, and gets himself into as much trouble as he possibly can.

Your pattern will be available to download immediately as a PDF file with three pages; one of the pattern as shown and one of its reverse, so it will be easy for you to transfer by whatever method you prefer. This pattern includes a full color and stitch guide, including a key with thread types and color numbers.

The pattern is laid out on one A4 sheet and is designed to be stitched about 4” wide and 7.25” tall.
