Make your very own animal balls, BTRT style!

Our felted wool animal balls were the first on the scene in 2007!
Now you can make your OWN critters while you learn to wet and needle felt.

New skill + cute fuzzy animal... what's not to love?!

Our all natural wool felt balls have been sent all over the world and our hedgehogs have been particular darlings, including their participation in the Alice in Wonderland exhibit at the Please Touch Museum in Philadelphia.

See our other listings for Walrus, Bunny, Monkey & Baby Chick Kits.

This listing is for the HEDGEHOG ball TUTORIAL.
It is only the DIGITAL PATTERN.

This TUTORIAL will help you create a hedgehog or many!

• full colour, picture loaded (35+) printed instructions (from an experienced felter and pattern author) for felting and embellishing the critter of your choice.
• online support and help that is only an email away

◘Skills you will learn:
• Wet felting by hand and/or washing machine
• Needlefelting basics
• Basics for choosing supplies for your next felting project (you'll be hooked!)

The finished balls are suitable for play at any age (or even as dryer balls!).
The tutorial is best completed by adults or children age 8 and up.
(The needles are very sharp and the nature of the craft does create a risk of stabbing one's self!).

Sizes are described for each item. If you are purchasing for a specific use or space, please be sure to measure before ordering. As each silk piece is dyed custom for you, returns and exchanges are not generally made for pieces that are their described dimensions.
Every silk item will arrive with a postcard bearing detailed information about the item and its care. Generally, treat silk like your own hair (a protein fiber)~ wash gently in warm to cool water with a gentle shampoo or dish soap and hang to dry. Avoid laundry detergent. Direct sunlight (ie on a clothesline) can quickly damage silk. Tumble dry low for a brief time, best of all~ press with a warm iron while damp.
