Here is a hand thrown stoneware tumbler waiting for a chilled drink on an Autumn day! It is decorated by painting on layers of colored porcelain slip using a flat Japanese hake brush for the white underlay, and pointed sumi brushes and fine tipped squeeze bottles to do the ginkgo leaves. The bottom half of the tumbler is left undecorated and unglazed.

When you fill the cup with your favorite soda or iced tea you can get a firm grip on the sweating surface because of the thumb indent and rough clay surface.

This tumbler is 6" high and holds a good 12 ounces including a few ice cubes.
