Is this a Dodo, or maybe one of the extinct flightless Australian dromornithids? I'm not sure what type of bird this is, but I liked the shape, so I cut it on a scroll saw from 1/4 inch thick cherry wood. I then shaped it with a rotary tool, sanded until silky smooth, and finished with two coats of wipe on urethane gel.

The bird has a small hole drilled in its back with a silver colored pinch bail attached. The bail opening is 4 mm by 7 mm to accommodate a wide variety of necklace cords or chains. The pendant comes with a 24" silver colored ball chain necklace. Ball chains can be cut with scissors to any length you would like.

The bird is 1 1/2" high, 1 1/2" wide and 1/4" thick.
