Dress your baby as the Very Hungry Caterpillar for his/her first photo shoot or bundle them up in this cozy costume for Halloween this year!

The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle is probably one of the first books your infant will read. Its colorful pages and charming story are delightful to parents and little ones alike. This timeless book seems to ever increase in popularity.

This is my own sweet little one in these pictures. She weighed 11 lbs. at birth, so even bigger babies can snuggle into this caterpillar costume. It makes a wonderful photo prop because even the squirmy ones (like mine) feel cozy and swaddled, so they fall right to sleep for that perfect shot.

The pattern includes instructions on making the caterpillar body and hat. Instructions for the butterfly wings are not included, however you can use the picture as a reference to make your own design.

You will need crochet hooks in sizes P, J, and H.

I will email the PDF pattern to you as an attachment to the email address you have on file with Etsy. If you would like me to send it to a different address, please let me know in the "note to sender." I usually email the pattern to you within 24 hours, often sooner.

You are welcome to sell items you make using this pattern: I only ask that you credit me as the pattern designer wherever you list your item, and links back to my Etsy site are appreciated!
