All the butcher block boards are 1/2 inch thick.

Preference for sending me the recipe is IDEALLY via a scanner. If you don't have access to a scanner, you can download a scanning app on your phone or even simply take a picture. A few tips for taking a picture: 1. recipe MUST be on a flat surface. 2. you must be directly over the top of the recipe (no slanting or side angles). 3. there must not be any shadow or reflection of light on the recipe itself (this is hard with a phone- use a secondary light source other than the overhead lighting). 4. light writing or oil splotches will make it difficult to convert your recipe for engraving and have a good quality (garbage in-garba7ge out). 5. A very light recipes can be photocopied and traced over with a thin sharpie or other writing tool to darken the handwriting, these are acceptable "fixes" for you to do before you send us the photo. 6. In the personalization box please tell me the name of the recipe you will be sending. 7. recipes with lines will be printed as is, some lines show up strongly, others show up here and there, please understand this is based on what you send us for a quality image. ( I have cleaned up and pieced together some of the messiest recipes- if your recipe falls under this category and typing it out is not an option, please contact me for the a custom estimate).

If you have any questions as to the quality of your recipe, you may message the shop and I can see what we are working with prior to placing an order. I Try to check my messages 3 times during the day-if we are busy during the day I will check every evening.

If we can't seem to get a good QUALITY image/picture, options are to type the order and engrave it or simply refund the order. I will be in communication with you thru the order process and creation, if an image does not meet my standards I will let you know. (No proofs will be sent unless you request one, only one will be sent and it will slow down the production process if you don't respond timely).

If you would like a header on your recipe- please let me know in the personalization field. Example: Mom's Lefse Recipe HEADERS WILL ALWAYS BE A TYPED FONT. See examples in the pictures. If you would like any kind of clip art added please let me know as well. Most often times the customer will just let me be creative, others simply want the recipe engraved and that is all... it is important to know this as well.

Disclaimer: bamboo is a grass and is very durable, however it is put together in thin strips and each strip has variations of hardness and will engrave differently across the grains, some will be light with very little color and other areas will be very dark, this is beyond our control and part of what bamboo does in the engraving process -THIS IS CONSIDERED NORMAL (see photos). Please be aware that wood is unique and no two pieces will be the same. Maple is a higher quality of wood for engraving, and has less noticeable strips of color. All Bamboo is sourced from China, one of the only regions in the world to source bamboo from, but your final product is proudly designed and engraved in Minnesota USA
